Review of Courage
Book review of Courage by Molly Evangeline
I love books that leave me breathless and excited for more.
The descriptions and dialogue were well balanced, and the characters were well made. The battles were described well, without being extremely gory and graphic.
I was swept up in the story and I was sad, happy, and angry with and at the characters. Not something that happens often... :)
Overall, Courage was wonderful, and there is only one minor thing keeping my rating from a five. The first few chapters didn't really grab my interest. It wasn't really until the group reached Eldor that I got to the point of "I can't put this book down!"
Review of Across the Stars
Review of "Across the Stars" by Morgan Elizabeth Huneke.
I usually approach Christian fantasy and science fiction apprehensively, just because I've read so many that I finish and think "I really didn't like that, and I will never read it again."
Coming from that perspective of "I'm not exactly sure how well this is going to go," this book blew me away.
I love how the author switches back and forth between the present and past, telling us more about the characters as we meet them. I love how perfectly the descriptions are balanced; enough to picture it, but not enough to bore the reader. And lastly, it's a great story in regard to the plot.
